Exploration Portfolio Management

Exploration Portfolio Management captures metadata of an exploration or exploitation asset for the corporate planning division of an E&P company. PFM allows for better and more accurate insight of a company's assets which can include: recoverable reserves, the production profile for multiple investment scenarios, the capital investment or assessment, the valuation, strategic fit as well as any other applicable information. This data is typically grouped by asset, or in the case of some E&P companies, it may be organized down to the well level.

Depending on the company's practices, the portfolio data can be expressed through a McKelvey box which provides stacking of proven, possible, probable and potential reserves from exploration to production. PFM has all the tools and dashboard capabilities and the ability to add Monte Carlo simulations and log-normal aggregation of production and reserves estimates.

The Exploration Portfolio Management environment supports the following:

  • Organization of all leads and prospects identified as opportunities and matured as assets, or progressed as projects into a flexible structure of entities that will be managed by various groups of internal stakeholders
  • Data and information capturing from the project, asset, and regional teams and management
  • Creates and maintains a definitive "single-truth" of all exploration data for use in planning, strategy definition, peer-review, and reporting activities
  • Provide a series of management dashboards and controls to various management teams from which they can communicate and collaborate effectively
