An E&P company selects PointCross' IEPS solution for Operation and Maintenance processes designed to maximize first year operability for a major off-shore gas facility.

An E&P company (IOC) with an off-shore gas production facility that is coming on line has selected us to build and deploy a range of Operations and Maintenance processes (O&M). This is a major win for PointCross because it extends the scope of IEPS (Our Integrated E&P Suite of orchestrated processes) and validates our belief in contextualization, and the use of contextualized information to gain instant insights into any aspect of business or technical decision making. These O&M processes are designed to maximize “First Year Operability”. Three (3) critical processes were built in 4 weeks from the first interviews with O&M technical and business staff to delivery and deployment.

The benefits of maximizing First Year Operability allows this customer to have immediate, closed loop controls on people filling Operations and Production roles in responding to operational and planning processes – down to people assignments and re-assignments. Secondly it allows them to have a ready view into any system or system components from sub-surface, to sub-sea, to pipelines, on-shore plants down to the final distribution and gas-to-cash points for better understanding the nature of planned and unplanned events such as failures and shut downs; as well as how people in the O&M process roles dealt with them. Lastly, they are able to evaluate the effectiveness of each “Role” in the processes and their RACI based on the response, the uptime, and the quality of the decision making – and be able to modify them to improve the total uptime and other KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR. Putting information into contexts creates the knowledge base; and using that in processes creates improves effectiveness and accelerates the facility safely to peak production.
