PointCross releases Codetta(TM), a semantic technology for enterprise
search that works with PointCross' SOA platform, Orchestra(TM). Codetta makes
true enterprise search possible so that team members can find and share drafts
being worked on concurrently, or find emails that are relevant to their work
and which they are authorized to see, while they are prevented from viewing
anything they do not have a need-to-know.
Codetta resolves the fundamental limitation of relying on a central active
directory for security and access control levels by providing continuously
evolving granular access through delegation of authority, or automated
strategic business processes. Centralized control through policies and
business rules makes Codetta a powerful enabler for compliance. It is ideally
suited for knowledge intensive, innovation and decision oriented industries
including upstream exploration and production of oil and gas, pharmaceutical
R&D, complex financial services, homeland security, and defense technologies.

and perspective search through Orchestra's business ontologies including
people and their expertise; authorization models; industry taxonomies and
folksonomies; and contextualized content of disparate types. Codetta also
integrates any of numerous 3rd Party search engines for unstructured content
indexing and search.
Besides business ontologies, Codetta uses semantic descriptions
(folksonomies) that evolve in day to day business activities, and their
linkages to industry standard taxonomies. These are used to obtain a set of
equivalent, and related, terms to drive the Codetta multiplex search engines
to find semantically relevant results. The authorization engine filters out
all unauthorized contextual results while the displayable search results are
packaged for display in real-time.
