Solo is a companion client to the Orchestra™ enterprise platform.
As part of the enterprise infrastructure it is a PC synchronizer that automatically
replicates all content, on any business topic, to the server and the user’s
desktop or laptop. Solo serves individual users as they participate in business
processes, information flows, and calls-to-actions from other people with
whom they have to work.
User laptops tend to have a limited amount of resources – limited disk space, or limited bandwidth depending on the connection a user has to the network. Solo optimizes the synchronization using an automated system that predicts and adapts to the user’s behavior patterns to optimize the use of the client’s resources by:
- Storing only those content and data on the laptop that are likely to be needed by the user when working offline
- Recognizing those business topics (contexts) that are becoming important to the user because of the emails and action items being sent to the user by others – and then selecting content from those topics to be synchronized
- Anticipating topics and content that will be needed by the user over the next many days or weeks and synchronizing relevant content
Solo comes integrated with Outlook and all Microsoft Office applications. Documents started in Solo are managed securely and encrypted during its storage and distribution. Any content in Windows Explorer can be dragged and dropped into a context in Solo. Emails in an Outlook folder can also be dragged and dropped into the email section of a context in Solo.
