IEPS - Integrated E&P Suite

Orchestra & IEPS Solutions to meet Upstream E&P Business Functions (Click here to see the flow diagrams)

(See also: IEPS Flash Demo )

IEPS – Integrated E&P Suite – is a framework consisting of disparate phase-gated processes, program, portfolio and project management offices, and solutions that need to be orchestrated and coordinated within an E&P company. IEPS is built on the Orchestra™ enterprise platform using the Funnel Development Kit (FDK) – a set of tools for building and extending business processes and solutions.

The entire suite acts as a single system and provides the infrastructure required for a global E&P company to operate effectively. Other than transactional processes, accounting, and payroll, IEPS is the entire “Oil Company In a Box”.

Applicable Stakeholders
Scope
IEPS covers the range of business functions from strategic portfolio stewardship by the executive committee, to:

IEPS is a system of record by virtue of its foundation in the Orchestra platform. E&P companies can comply with SOX 404 declaration requirements, as well as capture and track reserves related data and decisions in compliance with FASB69 and similar regulations. Additionally, IEPS provides the entire infrastructure required for E&P wide knowledge management, lessons learned, competitive intelligence gather-scatter, expertise tracking and skill pool management. It ensures that the toughest of security and confidentiality policies can be met for storing and transmission of records, emails, and data such as those generated during negotiations with partners. In IEPS, users also have access to data collection (from the field reps or external parties), data consolidation, and data reporting services. Users are provided with reporting schemas that will let them output information they are authorized to access into online dashboards (with drilldowns), offline, and desktop applications such as Microsoft Office. IEPS is additionally configured an array of charting and graphing capabilities.

Applicable Standards and Interfaces
IEPS has XML interfaces and data representations based on POSC and PPDM standards. It easily integrates and inter-operates with other business and technical applications that might exist within a customer environment.

Integration with typical business applications such as EDMS (EMC, LiveLink), ERP (SAP), PM (MS Project, Primavera), and Search (Google, Vivisimo, Autonomy) is achieved via Web services and/or standard middleware (TIBCO, Vitria).

Integration with technical applications and data stores such as GeoFrame™, OpenWorks™, Petrel™, PEEP™, ArcIMS™ and others is via the OpenSpirit™ framework.
Deployment
Component solutions and processes of IEPS can be developed and deployed in a matter of days or weeks, instead of the typical 2 to 4 year cycle with eight figure costs, touted by many consulting companies and vendors of old, unwieldy, and large platforms designed to manage transactional processes.

Customers can get started with one or more IEPS solutions, and can grow easily (at their own pace) into other solutions of interest.

In a typical deployment of IEPS the customers can access the first functional prototype within 4-6 weeks, and can go operational in a matter of 10-14 weeks, depending on the solution.
