Field Data Reporting System (FDRS)
PointCross’ FDRS is a family of IEPS solutions that use a common
solution framework to enable periodic and ad hoc field data reporting, consolidation
and management reporting for Seismic, Well, and Cap-Ex projects.
(See also: GARS Flash Demo)
Common FDRS Features
- FDRS manages and automates routine (daily, weekly or other time-based)
and ad hoc reporting by company or vendor representatives.
- The solution framework enables field reports to be updated online or
via offline Excel/email facilities.
- The format of field reports and release/reporting times are configurable
based upon the selection of key parameters during project initiation.
- Each representative solution within FDRS has its own comprehensive and
configurable data model.
- FDRS allows project managers to publish complete or selected parts of
reports to other stakeholders, including partners.
- Different FDRS solutions interface with each other to hand over published/approved
data; similar data exchange can also occur with other related IEPS components
like WDCS, Cap-Ex programs, and Contract Management solutions.
- FDRS is configured with drilldown tabular and graphical dashboards and
workflow/traffic light controls to review and approve field reports
FDRS consolidates and re-purposes project and programmatic data for management
reporting
Example FDRS Solutions
Geophysical Acquisition Reporting System
(GARS)
E&P companies invest significant resources in seismic data acquisition
projects to facilitate Exploration and Development activities. Timely and
accurate field reporting around factors such as physical conditions, contractor
capabilities, field crew efficiency, weather, permitting requirements and
others is essential in risk assessment as well as planning, asset management
and development.
GARS is a seismic data acquisition system that manages and automates daily
reporting by field representatives, data consolidation and publication into
management reports.
Applicable Stakeholders
- Geophysical Operations Managers
- Seismic Data Acquisition Project Managers
- Data Acquisition Specialists
- Contract Management Personnel
- Asset Managers
Features
- Manages and automates daily data acquisition project reporting by field
representatives using Excel and email facilities
- Handles project types such as Land (Explosives/Vibroseis), Marine (OBC/Streamer)
and Transition Zone projects
- Forecasts costs and schedules based on dynamic predictive models
- Enables monitoring of key progress/cost/schedule/risks project performance
indicators.

Daily Geological Reporting System (GRS)
GRS is designed to automate the release/submission/approval of ‘Daily
Geological Reports’ submitted by the Well site Geologists to the Operations
Geologist. It is closely related to the WDCS solution, a component of the
IEPS suite. GRS can be deployed as a standalone solution, combined with
WDCS, or as part of a larger IEPS deployment.
Applicable Stakeholders
- Well Site Geologist
- Operations Geologist
- Well Delivery Manager
- Asset Manager
- Block/Division Manager
Features
- GRS manages and automates daily geological and supplemental data reporting
by Well site Geologists using Excel and email facilities.
- DRS consolidates and re-purposes geological data for well progress
reporting.
- GRS allows Operations Geologist to publish geological reports to Asset
Managers, Block Managers, Divisional Managers and Partners.
- GRS allows Well Site Geologists to capture problems, their solutions
and ‘Lessons Learned’ which can then be shared across the
organization.
- GRS allows dynamic creation of the ‘End of Well Report’
as the daily geological data collection progresses through time.

deployment.
Applicable Stakeholders
- Site Drilling Manager
- Facility Drilling Manager
- Well Delivery Manager
- Asset Manager
- Block/Division Manager
Features
- DRS manages and automates daily drilling data reporting by the Site
Drilling Manager using Excel and email facilities.
- DRS consolidates and re-purposes drilling data for well progress reporting.
- DRS allows Facility Drilling Managers to publish drilling reports to
Asset Managers, Block Managers, Divisional Managers and Partners.
- DRS allows Site Drilling Managers to capture problems, their solutions
and ‘Lessons Learned’ which can then be shared across the
organization.
- DRS allows dynamic creation of the ‘End of Well Report’
as the daily drilling data collection progresses through time.

MLRS is designed to automate the release/submission/approval of ‘Mud
Logging Reports’ submitted by field mud loggers. It is closely related
to the WDCS solution, a component of the IEPS suite. MLRS can be deployed
as a standalone solution, combined with WDCS, or as part of a larger IEPS
deployment.
Applicable Stakeholders
- Site Mud Logging Lead
- Facility Drilling Manager
- Well Delivery Manager
- Asset Manager
- Block/Division Manager
Features
- MLRS manages and automates daily drilling data reporting by the Site
Mud Logging Lead using Excel and email facilities.
- MLRS can optionally be configured to capture relevant mud logging data
from existing field systems.
- MLRS consolidates and re-purposes mud logging data for well progress
reporting.
- MLRS allows Facility Drilling Managers to publish mud logging reports
to Asset Managers, Block Managers, Divisional Managers and Partners.
- MLRS allows capture of site problems, their solutions and ‘Lessons
Learned’ which can then be shared across the organization.
- MLRS allows dynamic creation of the ‘End of Well Report’
as the daily mud logging data collection progresses through time.
