A&D (Acquisitions & Divestitures) Solution
PointCross' A&D solution is a comprehensive business development solution
that is used to develop opportunities to acquire assets with potential,
to evaluate the value of assets currently in the company's asset base, and
to look for opportunities to sell such assets. It is part of the IEPS suite
configured on the Orchestra platform, and can also be deployed as a standalone
solution.

- The A&D Process is matured through configurable funnel stage (Identify,
Assess, Select, Define, Execute stages) with toll-gates separating the
stages.
- A&D prospects entering the funnel are associated with a set of configurable
metadata which can be entered through online forms, or spreadsheets. Metadata
is split into areas where the A&D activity is focused:
- General Header Information
- Broad geological description and any past development activities
- Risked and Unrisked Production and Reserves Estimates
- Economic Analyses
- Due diligence with technical, commercial and financial viability
of the Deal
- Projected Cap-Ex and ROCE
- Probability of Success of the deal and of developing the acquired
asset or divestiture
- Each stage includes a Business Information Framework including workspaces,
collaboration and communication tools, and document/data management systems
to carry work-in-progress.
- Toll-gates separate stages and toll-gate reviewers are responsible for
allowing prospects to mature from one stage to the next one. Toll-gates
can be set up to be flexible or with strict criteria and controls.
- Skilled people and designated project managers are assigned to the project,
and the expertise tracking capabilities of the Orchestra platform can
be used for finding the right skills in the a large dispersed company.
- A&D prospects and their summarized metadata can be aggregated, filtered,
sorted, and analyzed via interactive drilldown dashboards.
- Data from selected A&D prospects can be charted and summarized into
automated management reports.
- The A&D solution interfaces with other IEPS solutions including corporate
portfolio management, competitive intelligence, plays management, and
other maturation processes.
- The A&D solution is built on an open architecture with configurable
interfaces to corporate financial systems, risk/uncertainty tools, economic
analyses and other tools.
